I would like to share with everyone the positive power of massage therapy on their best fur buddie. Our Doberman Pincher “Herc” is getting up in years. He is the best friend to my son, that got him when he was 11. Jamie has never missed a walk, vet visit or therapy treatment. Jamie has a slight disability and his best friend has gotten him through some very hard times. Herc was there for Jamie when Jamie needed him, now it is time for Jamie to give back.
Herc lead a very active younger life and made some poor choices, like while running as a very young puppy tripping over a parking stop. Or, escaping from the house, running to get across the street, seeing a car, putting the brakes on and denting the car. Everything resulting in spine issues and pelvic issues. This has come to haunt him in his old age of 13.
A couple of years ago, he was not putting much weight on one of his hind legs. The vet gave him laser therapy that helped a bit. We spent a lot of money on alternative options before finding massage therapy. This was what changed EVERYTHING!
He is now enjoying his life with minimal pain. Pawz therapy gave Herc twice a week massages until the pain was down, and now he receives weekly massages for maintenance. I am not saying that he is 5 years old again but he is healthy and can enjoy walks and chasing squirrels. Occasionally he slips and must have rest.
This is where Marti and her massage therapy come in. It is amazing! One day I told her that his hip felt hot, after the treatment his hip was cool and very mobile. Marti is also not afraid to suggest going to his vet for an x-ray to locate issues to help aid in the therapy.
I am not one to really believe in the power of massage. I was even surprised that we can hear at times the clicking of the joints and then the look of relief on his face. Pawz therapy has brought Herc into his 13th year of life with the mobility of a 7-year-old. I truly believe that Herc would not be so pain free if it was not for Marti and the dedication she must Herc. 2016

“Our dog Mika, is an 80lb Golden Doodle diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 8 months. the atrophy in her hind leg was quite evident and we were beside ourselves until we met Marti, Pawz Therapy, at a dog event in August 2017. Not only is Marti a mobile Canine Massage Therapist, but she is a Registered Veterinary Technician, and assured us she could help. In 6 months, she not only helped, but the muscle is rebuilding and Mika is able to jump in the car again and run and play with her friends at the dog park. Marti’s care and compassion for dogs is evident as Mika gets very excited when I mention her name. She massages her whole body and Mika just melts under her touch. Watching her work on Mika, we can clearly see that her therapeutic care for dogs is full of love, sensitivity and deep understanding. I would strongly recommend Marti to anyone with a dog that needs special care due to deformities, injuries or age related issues. We are so glad to know there is a lot of love and knowledge about dog’s health in her touch. ” I met Marti at Woofaroo event in the summer. She was the canine massage therapist there that Ontario Dock Dogs was trying for our atheltes. I was hesitant at first not knowing her, but after just a few minutes of Marti massaging my dogs, you realize how much she knows, how much she loves dogs and how easy she is to be around. I have 2 Golden Retrievers who are almost 11yr & 8 yr old who instantly love her. Even my younger one who can be wary with strangers touching him. Every time they see her now they get very excited! She has massaged my boys many times and I can’t say enough good things about her. She is an excellent massage therapist and having a Registered Veterinary Technician background shows how much she knows about your furry friend.
